This farm has been in our family since 1919. We farm 250 acres of land and each year about 150 acres of arable crops are grown and 100 acres of grass. From the grass we make silage and hay to use as winter fodder, and some fields are used for grazing the cattle and sheep. We also grow some maize which we make in to silage for winter fodder.

Wheat, barley and beans are grown and the crop is sold for use in animal feeds. We keep some of the grain to feed to our own animals. The straw is baled and stored in a barn to be used as bedding in the winter.

The first Dexter was bought in 1993 from a local breeder after we fell in love with the small breed at agricultural shows.

The decision was made to establish a pedigree herd. They would be known as the Linhill herd and each animal has to be registered with the Dexter cattle society. Any animals born in to the herd are named with the prefix Linhill followed by a name that we select. They are named after homoeopathic remedies.

The herd now consists of 80 cows and their calves. We own two bulls called Moonshine Pewter and Llan y Coed Hunk.

We are a small family farm, which prides itself on high welfare standards for all our animals, producing top quality meat.
