The
Dexter cattle are born and reared on our 250 acre mixed family farm at
East Challow, near Wantage. The farm gives high priority to animal welfare
and the environment.
To
promote flavour and good meat marbling we ensure the following:
Ø
Reared
naturally on their mother’s milk
Ø
Matured
slowly on a diet consisting mainly of grass and maize silage supplemented with
home grown barley and field beans
Ø
Animals
are not given any hormones or additives and their food is GM free
Ø
Slaughtered
locally to minimise stress to the animals during journeys
